Comparing Canidates Tax plans...

Just thought you should know. Seriously the rich cant afford to pay more taxes. if you are making 2.8 million a year, you can afford to pay 700k of that. Oh noes! You'd only get 2.1 million! how sad! Cry me a fuckin river.

What the hell is this world coming to?

OK so about once or more a week, I hear a story about a parent or babysitter killing the child they have in their care. I can not even begin to fathom HOW you can do this. I look at my own son and cant even begin to think about hurting him. This again is why i'm pro-choice, if you cant handle being a parent, dont have the fucking kid. Simple as that. Too many people these days are having kids that dont even really want them, so in turn they abuse them so badly they die. What the hell is wrong with people? I just dont understand it.

58. Its whats for dinner.

Today was a great day for baseball. Francisco Rodriguez earned his 58th save of the season. Passing the MLB all time record for saves in a season that had been in place since 1990 when Bobby Thigpen earned 57 saves for the Chicago WhiteSox. 18 freakin years is how long that record had gone unbeaten. Today I had to listen to the game on the radio, since i was at work. I took joy in that fact since I got to hear the Broadcasting Hall of Famer Dave Niehaus call the play. I am a total Seattle Mariners fan, and I kind of feel proud to have the record broke even though it ment my team lossed. But still, it was very nice to witness history being made.

It started in the 9th inning with the Angels up 5-2. After a walk and a base hit, be barred down, getting a fly out, then a ground out. Then came Raul Ibanez, who in the past month or so has been insane. I dont have the exact stats on me, but its something like .408 Batting average in his last 15 games or so. To put it bluntly, hes been on a tear latly. K-rod gets to 0-2 in the count easily, but then Raul fouled off a bunch of pitches worked it up to 3-2. Then Rodriguez pulled the string. Throwing a nice and slow change up, he got Ibanez to swing and miss to strike him out for that last out, earning him the 58th save. Hearing all this on the radio, with the briliant play calling from Dave Niehaus, and the sound of the crowd roaring like it was back in the gladiator days, I had chills listening to it.

In other news about the Mariners, Ichiro Suzuki is only 6 hits away from 200 hits in the season, tying another MLB record for consecutive seasons with 200 or more hits. Willie Keeler holds that record now with 8 straight seasons with 200 or more. I would love to see next season to see Ichiro break the record.

In closing I was thinking about this whole season. Alot of amazing things have happened to the Mariners even with being the worst team in the American League and 3rd worst in the whole MLB right now. Felix Hernandez became the only AL pitcher to hit a grandslam during inter-league play, hitting it off of Johan Santana of all people. Also, alot of new players who were called up from AAA Tacoma have been amazing to watch. Brandon Morrow I think is my new favorite player. He started out the season being a relief pitcher. J.J. Putz was injured during a Toronto game, so Brandon Morrow took over closing duties while Putz was on the disabled list. Just watching him in the 9th inning as a closer was insane. Strike outs, ground out, pop ups, he was just getting all the outs he needed for the team to get those saves. After Putz came back off the DL, they send Morrow back to Tacoma to stretch him out to become a starter. Personaly at the time I thought he should have stayed as a closer, he was mesmerizing to watch, but now I know that I was wrong. On his very first MLB start, he went up against the Yankees, you know the team with all the "greats". Jeter, Abreu, Giambi, and freakin Alex Rodriguez.(who used to be a Mariner, but left because hes a money grubbin asshole.) Brandon Morrow retired like 9 in a row and had a no-hitter going into the 8th inning. A FREAKIN NO HITTER against the Yankees. Only to allow his first hit during the 8th inning. Still that was just an amazing thing to watch.

This just makes me think about next season. Hopefully the M's can get their shit together, and maybe at least go to the playoffs next year. With the new talent acting as that little bit of light breaking through the dark clouds hinting at the beautiful sun light about to shine through later, it just makes me root for my team even more. Hoping that our time will come...

'08 Elections

Well I guess I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging again. With the elections coming up, and the whole country seems to be fighting each other more than agreeing with each other. I feel like I should say something. I guess you can call me a Democrat, but I'm not registered as one. I'm not even registered as a Republican. I don't hold any ties to any one party. I like to take information from both sides, and filter it as i see fit. Some views from the Republican side i can see myself agreeing with, and some from the Democratic side I can agree with. So again with these elections coming up, I feel like I should voice my opinion on the issues.

I do NOT like John McCain at all. His views are too old fashioned, and already tried and failed from previous Presidencies. For example he wants to do away with Roe vs. Wade. The case which made abortion legal. Now I guess you can call me pro-choice, but i don't feel like I should have a choice anyway because I am a man. A woman's body is her own damn business and I don't feel like a bunch of men should have anything to do with that at all. McCain also has this thing about if we pull out of Iraq, we lose the war. Which is total bullshit anyways. France pulled out of pretty much all the wars they were ever in, and do you see their country invaded by terrorist on a daily basis like how McCain describes if we did pull out? No.

Also, I'm getting very sick about hearing about him in a Vietnam POW camp. Don't get me wrong, its a very sad yet, powerful message about loving your country. (Before i get into this more I would like everyone to know that I have the utmost respect for our troops and the men and women serving in our military.) John McCain has really said nothing during this whole election to explain what exactly he is going to do as president. Just as Rudy Giuliani has done with the whole 9/11 attacks, McCain is riding the coat tales of being a POW just to win this election like its enough, while not explaining his plans in detail.

Now on to Sarah Palin.

I'm sorry, but she is a token VP choice. Her views are pretty much as stupid as McCains' are. She's only being chose as a VP to get Hilary's supporters, and her views? Jesus Christ... She opposes Sexual Edjucation in schools, which is really smart because her dumbass daughter is pregnant and only 17. You know maybe if her daughter had some of that Sex Ed, she would have USED A CONDOM. And if Palin was pro-choice maybe she would have saved her daughter a lifetime of hardship being a young mother, especially with the douche bag boyfriend her daughter has. Also Palin has tried to ban books from public libarys in Alaska. You want to know who else tried to ban books? Hitler. Hitler tried to ban books, and then succeded in burning a crap load of them!

I am not a fan of cencorship in any way or form. If you are an adult, you should be able to consume any and all information availible to you in the form of books or news etc etc etc.

Come to think of it, I have not heard anything from the republican speeches that I liked. I even TRIED to see the good side of things, but I could not find anything. It was all negative bullshit slamming of Barak Obama. The only thing missing from that convention was a burning cross, white sheets, and the use of racial slurs. I guess " community organizer" is the new "N" word, because they called him that alot like it was an insult.

Seriously, what is wrong with being a community organizer? Working with regular people trying to make a difference in your area? How is that bad? Are the Republicans so far out of touch with normal humanity that if you do not come from some position of power and/or wealth that you are nothing to them? I found those comments very offensive and uncalled for.

Now on to the good part of this.
I'm really liking Barack Obama. He carries himself well with his speeches. He has explained in detail what he wants to do to improve the economy, ending the war in Iraq, and overall improve the image of our country to the rest of the world. He wants to raise taxes to the wealthy business's which is good, since Bush lowered taxes for them.

I still dont get that, raise taxes for people who dont have money so they pay more, but if you have LOTS of money, you go ahead and keep it, you've earned it. With the economy the way it is, taxes are going to have to increase. How the hell do you expect our multi-trillion dollar defict to become a surplus like Bill Clinton had it before he was done with his presidency. We are all, as a whole nation, going to do our part to fix the major fuck up Bush has done. We elected him so we need to fix our own fuck up. I think Obama has the tools he needs to do this. He has given out a detailed plan of his actions he will execute once elected. He explained all of this during the Democratic Convention. If you watched the Republican Convention all they did was talk shit about Barack Obama, while NOT explaining what they wanted to do. So tell me how I can vote for a party who are rich old racist rednecks who cant even explain their plans when asked.

So Barack Obama chose Joe Biden as his running mate. I can get behind this, because Joe Biden has something like 30+ years experiance in washington. He is the experiance Obama needs in his back pocket. I feel he will help guide Obama to make rational and intelligent decisions for our country. Barack Obama did not chose his running mate to get votes, like McCain did. He chose his running mate after thinking long and hard and who would reprsent his views and opinions and plans in a manner than would lead our country to become the country it once was, respected.

In Closing, I will cast my vote on Tuesday Nov 4th for Barack Obama for President. He is the change we need, and he is the image to restore the reputation of our country with the rest of the world. John McCain, I think has good intentions, but the way he wants to go about them, is not in the countrys best interest. The war needs to end now. The economy needs to get better now. The envoirnment need to get better now. John McCain is not now. Hes not even later. He just wont get it done. So yes. please cast your vote for Barack Obama and lets make this country the best country in the world again.
